Cultural and Civic Center DRUK invites you to an excursion "Kontorska and the Surroundings: the History of Three Temples"
As part of the urban development of the Goncharivka neighborhood, the season of excursion trips from the DRUK Cultural and Civic Center "Navkologoncharivka Journeys, or All Roads Lead to DRUK"
~ Excursion description: When better than Easter to remember the religious traditions of Slobozhans! Kontorska Street preserves the memory of one of the oldest churches in Kharkiv - the Church of the Nativity of Christ. You will hear not only about all the transformations of its architecture and see rare photographs, but also learn what prominent people were parishioners of this church.
You will get acquainted with a modern mosque, see a Muslim theological school, which is over 120 years old, as well as unique photos and drawings of the old mosque destroyed by the Bolsheviks.
Finally, an introduction to the interesting architecture and history of the temple, which was built by the Old Believers, and after World War II was rebuilt and used by the Baptists.
• At the end of the tour, a panel discussion will be held by Mikhail Krasikov and Lydia Starodubtseva on the topic "History and Memory" in the DRUK gallery hall.
