In a dream, the human consciousness tries to gather together, systematize and sort the images and impressions of the day. It will leave some, it will be forced to push something “into the attic”.
Let’s imagine that by an unfortunate incident we throw a valuable thing into that pantry, and now, in order to return it, we have to open the door of a secret room – all at once, in a noisy rhythm, the forgotten, rejected and unnecessary fall out on us – a collage of past experiences.
Artist Liza Yablonska-Mikhailus turns to the visual study of art form, social processes, and the body through the optics of subconscious searches in the technique of analog collage.
Her works are the open doors of the attic, from which the necessary lost things that the viewer tries to pull out of the pile are reached by others, forming eclectic rhymes.
